Description
SMP drilling fluid loss additive is a brownish-red powder that is hygroscopic and readily soluble in water. Belonging to the resin-based drilling fluid treatment agent category, its structure contains aromatic rings and sulfonic acid groups, giving it strong resistance to temperature and salt conditions. SMP sulfonated phenolic resin can be widely used in medium-deep and high-deep drilling to adjust and improve drilling fluid properties. The effect is even better when used in combination with sulfonated lignite.
Application
SMP sulfomethylated phenolic resin provides gentle lubrication and cooling to the drill bit in drilling fluids, offering lubrication and heat dissipation, wellbore support, drilling fluid pressure control, and reduced leakage. SMP sulfonated phenolic resin also effectively reduces filtration loss and possesses high-temperature and salt resistance, making it suitable for deep and ultra-deep well drilling. Furthermore, it exhibits a viscosity-enhancing effect, making it ideal for use in high-density drilling fluids.

Performance
The specific functions of SMP sulfonated phenolic resin in oil and natural gas drilling:
- Thickening effect: Sulfonated phenolic resin increases the viscosity and consistency of drilling fluid, thereby reducing mud separation and maintaining the stability of the drilling fluid.
- Excellent temperature and salt resistance, reducing filtration loss: SMP has good high-temperature resistance, maintaining the performance of drilling fluid under high-temperature conditions and protecting it from the effects of high-temperature environments.
- Inhibition of contaminant deposition: Sulfomethylated phenolic resin also inhibits the deposition of contaminants in drilling fluid, maintaining its cleanliness and stability.

Packaging & Shipping
Packaging: Packaging is provided in 25kg three-in-one kraft paper bags or paper-plastic composite bags. Custom packaging is also available upon request.
Storage and Transportation: When storing, take precautions against heat and moisture, and the stacking layer should not exceed 20 layers. The ideal storage temperature is 15℃ to 30℃. Dry powder should be kept 20cm off the ground and 20cm away from walls, and stacked no more than 10 layers high.
Shelf Life: 24 months
