Description
DSP-1 sulfonate copolymer is a pale yellow powder produced through solution polymerization using a molecular structure design concept and optimized selection of high-temperature and salt-resistant monomers. The large volume of the repeating monomer units introduced in DSP-1 drilling fluid effectively increases steric hindrance, thereby improving the rigidity of the copolymer molecules and enhancing its resistance to temperature, salt, and shear stress, as well as its filtration loss reduction performance.
Application
Sulfonate copolymer filtration deducer DSP-1 significantly reduces water loss under HTHP by constructing a dense filter cake on the wellbore, increasing liquid viscosity, and sealing micro-fractures, thereby improving wellbore stability. It also exhibits excellent resistance to temperature and salt/calcium contamination, making it suitable for deep and ultra-deep well drilling.

Performance
The specific functions of DSP-1 copolymer filtration reducer in natural gas and oil drilling include:
- Significantly reducing filtration loss: The polymer chains in the sulfonate copolymer can be effectively adsorbed on the surface of clay particles and block micropores through the hydration membrane to form a dense filter cake with low permeability.
- Excellent temperature and salt resistance: The sulfonic acid groups in the molecular structure have strong hydrophilicity and stability, and do not degrade or flocculate in high-temperature and high-salt environments (such as seawater), maintaining the rheological stability of the drilling mud.
- Improving mud cake quality: Sulfonate copolymer also has a certain degree of inhibition, which can reduce the expansion and collapse caused by water entering shale formations.
- Improving rheological properties: This type of copolymer has good thickening and rheological regulation effects in freshwater or brine drilling mud.
